Recently, a group of our students embarked on an unforgettable journey to Beijing — and what an adventure it’s been!
The trip began at Beijing Language and Culture University, where students were welcomed with open arms. They quickly immersed themselves in Mandarin lessons, practised graceful Tai Chi Fan routines, and even sang in Chinese — a true dive into the heart of the culture. A warm welcome ceremony and a traditional dinner featuring the famous Beijing Roast Duck set the tone for the days ahead.
Over the next few days, students took part in a variety of hands-on cultural activities, including paper cutting, calligraphy, and mask painting. One of the most memorable moments was a lively square dance with over 200 participants — a joyful celebration of community and connection.
On Day 4, the group explored deeper traditions through Chinese watercolour painting, a tea ceremony, and knot making, crafting their own lucky souvenirs to take home.
Day 5 was a highlight for many — a once-in-a-lifetime visit to the Great Wall of China, followed by a dazzling Chinese acrobatics show and a walk through the iconic Olympic Park.
As the trip drew to a close, students visited a local international school, engaging in cultural exchange with Chinese peers. They toured the campus, played traditional instruments, decorated fans, and shared a meal together. The day ended with a heartfelt gift exchange and a birthday celebration, complete with cake and singing.
Throughout the trip, students formed new friendships, embraced new experiences, and gained a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. This wasn’t just a school trip — it was a journey of discovery, growth, and unforgettable memories.
