Jobs Fair 2025

January 31, 2025

This yearโ€™s Annual Jobs Fair at Macmillan Academy was once again an outstanding success, bringing together over 50 local employers eager to showcase their businesses and the exciting career opportunities available to our students.

The event provided an invaluable opportunity for students, parents, and local businesses alike, fostering connections and sparking potential future careers. Many members of the Endeavour Foundation’s network of partnerships were in attendance, showing their support for this key event.

A Thriving Community of Opportunities
The event took place on an exciting evening filled with networking and exploration. Local employers, from a wide range of industries, were on hand to share valuable insights into their businesses and discuss job openings, apprenticeships, internships, and work experience opportunities. This year, we saw even greater involvement from sectors such as engineering, healthcare, finance, retail, and the creative arts, reflecting the diverse career paths available to our students.

A Wide Range of Students Engaged: From Year 9 to Year 13
What made this yearโ€™s Jobs Fair particularly special was the broad spectrum of students in attendance. The event was open to students from Year 9 through to Year 13, offering everyone a chance to explore the possibilities ahead. Whether it was younger students looking to get a glimpse of future career options or Year 13 students securing their next steps after exams, the event had something for everyone.

It was heartening to see the enthusiasm from all year groups, with students eager to speak with employers about potential opportunities. The involvement of families was also evident, with many attending to learn about available career pathways for their children. This highlights how important these events are in shaping the futures of our students.

Creating Connections That Matter
Throughout the evening, we witnessed meaningful conversations unfold, with students gaining invaluable advice and direction from local businesses. Whether students were looking for part-time jobs, full-time roles, or long-term career development, they had the opportunity to speak directly with employers who were genuinely interested in nurturing new talent.

The feedback from both employers and students has been overwhelmingly positive, and it is clear that this event is making a significant impact in helping our students bridge the gap between education and the world of work.

Looking Ahead: A Bright Future for Our Students
The trust is immensely proud of all our students who took the initiative to attend and explore the variety of career opportunities available to them. The Jobs Fair is just one of the many ways we support our students in planning for their futures, helping them make informed decisions as they prepare to take the next steps in their careers or higher education.

We would like to extend our thanks to all of the employers who participated and made this event such a success, as well as to the families who supported their children by attending. We look forward to seeing how these connections will benefit our students in the months and years to come.
