We are pleased to acknowledge the Macmillan Academy’s ongoing commitment to fostering a positive and motivating environment for its students. In line with their dedication to recognising student achievement, we are excited to see the launch of their new Recognition & Reward programme, which promises to highlight and celebrate the successes of students in a meaningful and engaging way.
Praise Postcards: A Fresh Approach to Celebrating Success
One of the standout features of the programme is the introduction of Praise Postcards. These postcards, each marked with a 1-5 star rating, provide a fun and interactive way for students to celebrate their achievements. The postcards can be stored in dedicated wallets within students’ planners or taken home as a reminder of their hard work. This initiative encourages students to collect and take pride in their accomplishments, while reinforcing a sense of personal achievement.
These Praise Postcards can be awarded by any member of staff and cover a wide range of areas, including subject achievements, Tutee of the Week, Enrichment activities, Subject Support, and Attendance. This approach ensures that every student has the opportunity to be recognised for their efforts in various aspects of school life.
Tutee of the Week
The role of tutors is central to the new recognition system, as they are tasked with nominating a student from their group as Tutee of the Week. This student will receive a dedicated postcard as a symbol of their recognition. This initiative not only strengthens the bonds within tutor groups but also encourages students to engage more actively in their academic and personal development.
As an external observer, we are excited to see how these new initiatives will impact the overall culture at Macmillan Academy, reinforcing the values of achievement, encouragement, and recognition throughout the school community.
We look forward to witnessing the positive outcomes of this programme and the continued success of the students at Macmillan Academy.
