Zen Bus – Supporting Student Wellbeing

February 6, 2025

We were delighted to recently welcome the Zen Bus to our trust, offering students aged 6 to 18 the opportunity to participate in a unique and engaging wellbeing experience. This visit was made possible thanks to Wates Construction, who generously funded the initiative as part of their commitment to social value and community wellbeing.

About the Zen Bus Project
The Zen Bus Project is an innovative mobile mindfulness and wellbeing space designed to support young people’s mental health. The project transforms a traditional bus into a calm, interactive, and sensory-rich environment where students can take a break from their busy school day, reflect, and learn mindfulness techniques to manage stress and improve focus.

What Did Students Experience?
During their time on the Zen Bus, students engaged in a variety of activities designed to promote relaxation and emotional wellbeing, including:

  • Mindfulness exercises – breathing techniques and guided relaxation to reduce stress
  • Sensory experiences – a calming space with soothing sounds and visuals
  • Reflection and discussion – encouraging students to express their thoughts and emotions in a supportive environment

Supporting Student Wellbeing and Mental Health
This project aligns with our ongoing focus on student wellbeing and mental health awareness, offering strategies to help young people navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom.

A Big Thank You to Wates Construction and Zen Bus
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Wates Construction for their generous funding of this opportunity, and to The Zen Project UK for delivering a fantastic and meaningful experience for our students.
